About the event
Make + Take Fire Cider
September 17 | 6:30–8:00 PM | $20 per person
Gather around the table for a hands-on evening of making fire cider—a bold, warming herbal vinegar traditionally prepared with roots, herbs, citrus, spices, and apple cider vinegar.
Together, we’ll chop, mix, and build your own jar while learning about the ingredients and the ways they can complement your seasonal wellness routine.
What is Fire Cider?
Fire cider is an herbal-infused vinegar traditionally made with ingredients like ginger, garlic, horseradish, citrus, onion, herbs, and warming spices. After steeping for several weeks, the mixture is strained and can be enjoyed by the spoonful, diluted in water or tea, mixed into dressings, or incorporated into foods.
Many of its ingredients have long culinary and traditional uses associated with supporting digestion, circulation, and general immune and respiratory wellness. Ginger brings warming digestive support, garlic contains naturally occurring plant compounds, horseradish offers that unmistakable sinus-clearing sensation, citrus provides vitamin C and antioxidants, and apple cider vinegar creates the tangy base that extracts and preserves the flavors of the ingredients.
This class is about learning, creating, and adding another simple, food-based practice to your seasonal wellness toolkit—not treating or preventing illness.
What’s Included
Your $20 registration covers the cost of supplies, including your jar, apple cider vinegar, fresh produce, herbs and spices, recipe, and guided instruction. You’ll prepare your own fire cider during class and take the full jar home with you.
Your cider will need to steep for approximately 4–6 weeks, so our September gathering means it should be ready as we head into the colder months.
What to Bring
Please bring:
A cutting board
A sharp kitchen knife
An apron, if you’d like
A reusable bag or small box to safely carry your jar home
We’ll take care of everything else.
Come Make It With Us
You don’t need any herbal experience or special knowledge—just a willingness to learn and get your hands a little messy.
Come by yourself or bring a friend. We’ll gather around the table, learn about what we’re working with, make something useful with our own hands, and send everyone home with a jar that continues transforming long after the evening is over.
